“Release and detach from every person, every circumstance, every condition, and every situation that no longer serves a divine purpose in your life. All things have a season, and all seasons must come to an end. Choose a new season, filled with purposeful thoughts and activities.” – Iyanla Vanzant
On New Year’s Eve, I got up early and went to a coffee shop near my house to cozy up with a chai tea latte and set my intentions for what I want to create in 2017.
This is an essential part of my year-end ritual using my 2016-2017 Annual Review/Preview Reflection Guide. If you haven’t completed your own review/preview yet, I highly encourage you to do so. Reflection is one of the most powerful tools for personal development!

As part of my reflection process, I also chose a theme word that best describes what I want to experience in 2017.
My theme word for the coming year is:
Liberation.

It’s 2017.
This is what I am choosing:
I choose to release everything that no longer serves me or my purpose here on earth.
I choose to eliminate all negative and limited beliefs.
I choose to let go of the past and step into my future.
I choose to forgive and move forward.
I choose to believe that all my relationships are growing and expanding.
I choose to believe that I am always loved and supported.
I choose to believe that anything and everything is possible for me.
I choose to create the life of my dreams.
I choose to help others and leave a legacy for black women all over the world.
I choose to take good care of myself so that I can care for others.
I choose to be authentic.
I choose to become more of who I really am.
I choose to be set free.
What about you? What are you choosing – starting now?
What’s your theme word for 2017?
