It’s been a loooong time since I’ve done a travel diary post! This diary is from earlier this year, on a weekend trip to Maui, Hawaii.
Hotels are super expensive in Maui, so I had to search high and low to find a semi-affordable place to stay for the weekend. Kaiholo Hale in Paia was perfect!
I had to rent a car and the views were awesome driving around the island. Even though it had been raining off and on all weekend in Maui, I still had a relaxing walk at Ali’i Lavender Farm, then picked strawberries for the first time at Kula Country Farms.
I also went on the Road to Hana daylong tour and I’m so glad I did. There were so many amazing ocean views out there!
We went through so many different areas of nature on the Road to Hana tour in Maui – rainforests, waterfalls, mountains, gardens and of course, beaches. After you pass a certain point on the island, you’re literally “off the grid” with no electricity & everything powered by solar or generators!
I also had an amazing dinner at the famous Mama’s Fish House. Beautiful view, impeccable service and incredible food – from the mai tai to the traditional Hawaiian plate with grilled mahi mahi, poi and wild boar(!) to their signature “black pearl” chocolate passionfruit dessert. Everything was so delicious, definitely in the running for meal of the year.
