VIDEO: The Power of An Unconditional Yes

November 5, 2016 | By Rosetta |

unconditional-yes-youtube-thumbnailCan I let you in on a little secret?

(Today’s message may be hard for you to receive, but I promise that if you can let it in, it will empower you to be happier and more successful in your life from this day forward.)

OK.

So the actual reason why you haven’t achieved your goals by now is NOT because you don’t have the time or the money or the ability to do so.

It’s not because “life happened” or someone did you wrong or because you got divorced or lost your job.

Do you want to know the REAL reason why you haven’t gotten further with your big dream at this point?

It’s this:

You haven’t fully COMMITTED to getting what you want!

Although you might SAY you are willing to do the work, the truth is that you are not yet a 10 on the commitment scale. ALL IN, no matter what!

It’s because you have made your goals CONDITIONAL instead of UNCONDITIONAL.

It’s because you have allowed challenges and obstacles and naysayers to distract you and take you out of the game.

It’s because you have not surrendered to the power of an “unconditional yes.”

I did a powerful livestream on this topic when I was in Waikiki last week about how you can make this key mindset shift that will help you live the life you truly want.

Watch the video below:

I hope this video inspires you to prioritize your dreams, no matter what anyone else thinks or says about them.

Because remember – you can do anything you want with your life and NO ONE CAN STOP YOU…but you.

Love,

Rosetta

Most of the women featured on the Happy Black Woman podcast are businesswomen; entrepreneurs who are building their dreams through a successful company. Today’s guest is a bit different. Rebecca Thompson is fulfilling her life-calling by championing a cause: black women in politics. Rebecca’s determination and spirit are a powerful demonstration of what can happen when black woman get energized toward public office. You will be inspired and encouraged – possibly even motivated to get involved in your community’s politics – by listening to this episode of the podcast.

The face of power tends to be male and it tends to be white.

If you haven’t noticed how things are in this world, the faces of power tend to be male and they tend to be white. There’s nothing wrong with that – anyone can be an elected leader in the United States if they truly have the heart to serve the people. But those two facts do show us that the black community, and black women in particular, are underrepresented among the elected officials who have so much power in determining the course of our communities and nation. Rebecca’s realization of that fact is part of what motivated her to run for office and help other black women learn the skills needed to run for office in their jurisdictions.

If you want to run for office you need to be clear about WHY you are doing it.

There are many reasons you may want to run for office. But if you’re going to put yourself and your family into the public eye in that way you need to be clear on exactly WHY you are doing it. Rebecca Thompson says it’s essential because you will run into moments where it doesn’t seem that what you’re doing is worth it. Opponents will falsely accuse you. You will be slandered. The press will have unreasonable questions and demands. How are you going to persevere if that’s the case? You’ll do it by having a clear sense of WHY. Rebecca Thompson is Rosetta’s guest on this episode of Happy Black Woman.

If you want to run for office you need to be clear about WHY you are doing it @candidacycoach

You don’t have to know how you’re going to raise the money.

One of the major hurdles you’ll have to get past if you are going to run for elected office is the issue of money. You will need money to run a successful campaign – a LOT of it. How are you going to raise money if you don’t feel that you have a public persona already? Rebecca Thompson was in those exact shoes when she decided to run for office and her approach was much more successful than you might think it would be for a first-time candidate. Rebecca shares her fundraising strategy and tells the results of her demanding and powerful campaign, on this episode.

What is your freedom worth to you?

When Rosetta asked Rebecca Thompson about the ways she keeps herself on track in the midst of a busy life Rebecca said that she has to remind herself first of all that she’s working to maintain her own freedom. When that’s clear in her mind she has to ask herself a simple question and give an honest answer. “What is my freedom worth?” Is it worth missing a favorite TV show because she needs to work on an important project? Is it worth going to bed late or rising early? Those are the kinds of questions anyone has to ask themselves if they want a better life than they have – or if they want to make an impact like Rebecca does by encouraging black women in politics. You can hear Rebecca’s inspiring story on this episode.

Your Dreams Are Still Worth Fighting For

October 30, 2016 | By Rosetta |

dh-53As soon as I woke up this morning, I put on my gospel music playlist (as I usually do on Sundays) and came across a song I hadn’t heard before:

“Worth Fighting For” by Brian Courtney Wilson.

Here are some of the inspirational lyrics:

Eyes haven’t see, ears haven’t heard
All you have planned for me…

Nothing can separate me from your love when
There’s so much more still worth fighting for.

And I’ve had this song on repeat ever since.

The lyrics remind us that regardless of the obstacles you face in life…your dreams are still worth fighting for!

It doesn’t matter what it looks like right now.

It doesn’t matter what other people are saying about you.

Be determined to walk by FAITH because if you just refuse to give up, you will live to see the truth that the journey was so worth it.

You’re a part of my tribe because deep in your heart, you know that you were made for SO MUCH MORE.

And today, I want you to imagine…

What would your life look like if you simply started ACTING like it?

Your life, your business, your relationships, your career, your health – all of it could change drastically once you decide that your success is worth a significant investment of your time, energy and money.

You don’t have to settle for a “normal” life.

You don’t have to just keep “going through the motions” and blindly accept that this is how your life is supposed to be.

You can absolutely walk in your purpose, honor your calling and manifest the big vision you have been given for your life.

All you have to do is DECIDE that from now on – starting today – things will be different.

Will you do that?

Have an amazing day :)

Love,

Rosetta

Renee specializes in helping entrepreneurs get clarity on what it is they are offering and who they are offering it to so that they can not only add value to the lives of those they serve but also earn their living through the amazing services they provide. Renee Lamb, Becoming An Entrepreneur Through Clarity and Systems @TruePeaceCoach

Becoming an entrepreneur is not as hard as it sounds.

Renee Lamb believes that the act of becoming an entrepreneur starts with clarity. You have to get incredibly clear on what it is you are bringing to the market and who the people are who truly need that thing or service. If you don’t take the time to get clear you’ll struggle trying to make a business fly. But once you have the answers to those two simple questions you will be able to hone your offer to ideally suit those particular people and you’ll also be able to find exactly how to reach those people online. You will get a lot of help hearing how Renee simplifies this discovery process so be sure you listen.

The power of goals and accountability on the entrepreneur path.

When Rosetta asked business coach Renee Lamb what she does to stay productive she immediately said that she is most productive when she sets clear goals in a context where she can be accountable. The goals help her know where she’s heading and why she’s doing what she’s doing. The accountability is the piece of the puzzle that keeps her on track. She’s got a unique way of making it all work so you’ll want to be sure you take the time to hear what she’s got to say. Who knows, her approach could be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

You can only become an entrepreneur if you are willing to be you.

Get it out of your head that you’ve got to be like somebody else in order to build or run a successful business as an entrepreneur. The world doesn’t need another Rosetta Thurman or Renee Lamb, it needs YOU! You have got a unique perspective on how you build your own success and there are people out there who will resonate with your approach more than they will with anyone else. That’s why you’ve got to start with a commitment to being yourself. The entrepreneurial path will only work for you if you will be you. Find out more from Renee Lamb on this episode.

What would happen in the world if black women stood in their power?

Rosetta and her guest Renee Lamb finish out this conversation by focusing on what the world might be like if black women were bold enough, courageous enough to stand in the power they have AS black women. They both believe that most black women sell themselves short, not believing that they have the power to make the kind of changes that could revolutionize their income and family history. You’ll be inspired by the visions Rosetta and Renee share so be sure you listen to this one all the way to the end.

VIDEO: From Full-Time Nonprofit Job to Building a Million-Dollar Company

October 24, 2016 | By Rosetta |

happyblackwomanoct2016-9It’s my first full week back in Hawaii after spending last week in Washington, DC hosting my Location Independent Business LIVE 3-Day Intensive!

We had 115 women joining us from all over the country learning how to create an authentic online brand, build their tribe and grow their online businesses.

The energy in that room was AMAZING!

From 3 days of training, implementation and hot seats to a fun salsa dancing lesson, frequent dance breaks, yummy food and powerful networking…we had an incredible time together.

To give you a little peek into our experience, I wanted to share the photos we took throughout the weekend!

Click here to check out all the event photos from the weekend

The morning before the event kicked off, I went downtown DC to do some filming with our new videographer Monica.

We filmed right in front of the office building on 15th & M St. NW where I used to work.

I wanted to reflect on how far I’ve come from working a full-time nonprofit job back in 2007 when I started my first blog…to quitting that job in 2010 and replacing my salary…to building almost a million-dollar personal development company just 6 years later.

There I was, standing in front of the coffee shop where I used to have meetings with my boss and co-workers…and to my surprise, out walks one of my old colleagues from over 6 years ago!

After I shared what I was up to, she told me something that almost brought tears to my eyes.

It was so inspiring that I had to get on livestream and share the experience with my tribe:

With over 55,000 views on Facebook, I can see that my thoughts resonated with a LOT of women in our tribe!

I can only guess that it’s because so many of you are also in the process of manifesting your vision.

But when that vision feels so far away from your current reality, it’s so important to recognize just how far you’ve come.

You need to know that where you are now is right where you need to be.

And as long as you keep going and NEVER give up – you WILL succeed.

No doubt about it. It’s simply a matter of time.

Regardless of what anyone else says or thinks about your goals – please know that I love you and I believe in you.

I believe in your dream.

I believe in your vision.

I love who you are now and I absolutely love who you are becoming.

Have an amazing week,

Rosetta

P.S. If you couldn’t join us in DC, but you’re ready to make the leap and start building your own location-independent business, keep reading for an opportunity to get exactly what you may be needing right now.

HBW059: Charlene Dior Blandon, How Black Women Can Reach Their Full Potential

October 19, 2016 | By Rosetta |

charlene-dior - black women coach

When you think of yourself what kind of potential do you see? Some women are absolutely confident, ready to take on the world. But that kind of woman is the exception, not the norm. It’s more often the case that women are struggling to know who they are and to truly believe that they have something valuable to offer the world. How do you overcome the negative beliefs that keep you bound? What can you do to step beyond those limitations to tap into your true potential? On today’s episode, Rosetta chats with a black woman’s life coach who is leading the charge to powerfully change lives and reshape mindsets. Charlene Dior is Rosetta’s guest on this episode.

HBW059: @Charlene_Dior, Leading Black Women Into Their Full Potential

Every one of us has a soul full of potential. Have you discovered yours?

It may be hard for you to believe that you have great potential but think about it this way: Every person who has accomplished something great was once a child. They, like you, were born with nothing but their humanity and a bunch of raw talent that needed to be honed and refined. For those who went on to accomplish great things, the only difference is that in some way they have pursued the refining of those talents and skills, which has made all the difference. Today you can hear a powerful women’s coach, Charlene Dior as she unpacks her beliefs about how women can refine the potential within then to move beyond their obstacles and into their full potential.

Why black women need to go deep and discover their unique place in the world.

Black women are unique women, powerful women, women who know what it means to be the rock for their families and communities. But too many of them don’t see themselves that way. Too many are held back by a terrible past or a wrong perspective of themselves. Today’s guest, Charlene Dior is on the show for the purpose of challenging black women to dig deep, to find their true identity so that they can discover that they do indeed have a unique place in the world that only they can fill. When these powerful women are able to come alive as they are meant to do, the world will never be the same. Get to know Charlene on this episode of The Happy Black Woman podcast

Always be closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

One of the most significant mindset shifts that most black women need to make is to foster a sense of dissatisfaction when it comes to their current level of maturity and growth. You can’t be satisfied with where you are because your potential is reaching higher. You need to always be closing the gap between where you are and where you want to be – where you know you are supposed to be. Charlene Dior is on the show with Rosetta today to help you get past the obstacles that are holding you back. Be sure you listen to this inspiring conversation.

Black women: Don’t sit on your dreams. You need to get moving!

Do you have dreams for yourself – for your life? What are you waiting for? Get out into the world and start making those dreams happen. Sure, you may not know where to turn or exactly how to get started – but you’re in luck because Charlene Dior is on the show today. Charlene is a black women’s coach who helps discover the path and unlock the potential that resides deep inside so that you can get moving to fulfill those unrealized dreams and add some good to the world. Rosetta invites you to be a part of this great conversation and to reach out to Charlene to see how she can help you in specific, personal ways.

HBW058: Amber Berry Teaches You How To Build A Great Money Mindset

October 12, 2016 | By Rosetta |

hbw-podcast-feat-amber-berry_72-dpi

Mindsets around money can be messed up in big ways. We all learn to think about money at an early age and the attitudes we develop are not always healthy. Amber Berry has noticed that tendency in herself and in many others and has learned a ton of great ways to think about money in healthier ways. That’s why she developed her Feel Good Finances website and helps entrepreneurs deal with the emotional and mindset issues surrounding money. On this episode of The Happy Black Woman podcast, you’re going to hear Rosetta’s conversation with Amber about money mindset, productivity, and building a dream business that you can use to create the life you desire. Be sure you take the time to listen!

Do you have a messed up money mindset? Here’s how you can find out!

Most of us don’t think about money in healthy ways. Whether we have undue or inappropriate feelings of guilt about finances or have a belief that we will never be one of “those people” who have money, we all probably have something to work on. But one of the most powerful hindrances to our money mindset is our emotions. The way we FEEL about money is powerful and many times holds us back from experiencing freedom and effectiveness in the way we pursue making and saving money. On this episode, Amber Berry is going to tell us 3 powerful tips that can help us start building a healthier mindset around money.

What to do if you are not good with money.

Amber Berry says that many people tell her that they are simply “not good with money.” She believes that is a bad habit they’ve developed in their thinking. In her experience helping many people overcome the obstacles to having a healthy money mindset, Amber has discovered effective tools that can help a person realize that they aren’t bad with money, they are simply ill-equipped to deal with it rightly. It’s her desire to change that by offering training and help that enables her clients to deal with money wisely and powerfully. You can hear how Amber got into the financial education world and what she does to help people like you, on this episode.

Why you need a group of friends who support your new money mindset.

Many people are trapped in a negative way of thinking about money because they were taught unhealthy ways of thinking from childhood. It isn’t that parents intentionally taught them things that they knew were bad, they just passed on the mindset they already had about money. That means that as you start working toward new mental habits your close family members may not be very supportive, simply because they don’t understand what you’re trying to do. That’s why you need a supportive group of people who understand your money mindset journey and are willing to encourage you and help you maintain your momentum. On this episode of the podcast, Amber Berry shares how you can find the exact group of people you need, so be sure you take the time to listen.

Are you self-sabotaging your money making efforts?

It sounds silly to say that people sabotage their own efforts at earning money, but it’s true. And the tendency to short circuit their own plans comes from an unhealthy mindset that they possess about the issue of money. Amber Berry has discovered some powerful tools that help people recognize their own bad thinking about money and begin to move out of those mental habits and develop healthier ones. You will receive a lot of help surrounding your own bad mental habits about money if you’ll listen to this great episode of Happy Black Woman. And you’ll also be able to receive Amber’s free gift. One of the things we all need to learn in life is that self care is vital. It’s not a selfish thing, it’s a thing that is necessary to survival. But more than that, it’s vital to the way you survive in a healthy way. Today’s guest is Rosetta’s friend Regine, a member of the Happy Black Woman mastermind group who has been a great encouragement and help to many of the women in the community. Regine specializes in creating self care retreats where women can get away to nurture their own souls and come away stronger as a result. You’ll hear exactly what she does on her retreats and how she leads women through important exercises to gain clarity and create balance in their lives, on this episode of the Happy Black Woman podcast.

Answering some difficult questions led Regine to her life’s work.

Regine was and is a lawyer. She loves what she does 9 to 5. But she came to a place in her life where she had to decide if what she did 9 to 5 was what defined her or if there was something more. Her decision to explore the possibilities is what led her into the world of travel and the benefits traveling has for life. From there she branched out even further to establish self care retreats for the black community. Her story is an inspiring example of what you can do when you find yourself not quite reaching the level of meaning you believe your life should have. Be sure you take the time to listen to this conversation about her journey.

You need to take time for self care, but you don’t. Why is that?

Everybody is busy. It’s a fact of life in the modern world. It’s that busy-ness that can make us feel like we simply have to keep going without time for ourselves. But if you continue to do that you’ll burn out or break down. There has GOT to be time for self care or you will crumble. Rosetta’s guest today is Regine, a woman who has discovered that some of the most important parts of her day are the moments she takes to refresh and renew herself. She’s learned that she can’t be afraid to make the time for herself because it’s from that place that her strength flows. You can learn more about what it takes to establish a habit of self care, on this episode.

Successful people know they need time to nurture their creative side.

Richard Branson is one of the most high-profile entrepreneurs and creatives out there. Looking at his example you can learn a great deal about what it takes to nurture the creativity that has not only given him a meaningful life but has also created businesses worth billions. Successful people like Richard know that self care is vital for fueling the creative spirit within. Without sufficient time to think, rest, and renew, many of the achievements we could reach will never happen. Rosetta’s guest today specializes in crafting retreats to nourish the body, soul, and mind and you can learn how to join her on the next one, on this episode.

When are you going to take care of yourself?

Black women are often the ones holding things together in their homes, communities, and churches. But who holds them together? They’ve got to have a deeper reservoir of strength from which to draw, a place where their own spirit is nurtured and cared for. That is what self care is all about. It’s taking the time for you that you need, in order TO be there for others in your life who matter. On this episode, you’ll learn some very practical tips to help you get your own self care habits underway so that your life does not become one of the many that crumbles under the load of responsibility you bear.

About Regine Monestime

I am a heart centered entrepreneur and lawyer. I am passionate about travel and its ability to transform lives by introducing people to the vastness, beauty and richness of the world. I believe that exploring different cultures cultivates appreciation and reverence for each other. As part of my soul centered lifestyle, I regularly attend meditation and wellness retreats and find that people of color are often underrepresented. These retreats have been such a gift to me and I am on a mission to share that gift with others.

My vision is to develop an ecosystem for fun, off the beaten path, enriching luxury group retreat experiences for people of color who need to disconnect from their hectic lives and reconnect with their authentic selves so they will return home feeling rejuvenated and transformed. They will also learn tools and techniques to empower them to live healthier, more self-aware and centered lives.
